Lake Wanaka.

Lake Wanaka and the famous WanakaTree.

The lonesome Tree is situated in the Beautiful town of Wanaka, on the South Island of New Zealand. l have always said to my wife that if we had the opportunity to live in New Zealand than Wanaka would be the place that l would love to settle in.

 

The surroundings are just perfect, with mountainous views surrounding the lake and poplar trees that litter the shores and landscape with the most vibrant coloured autumn leaves, snow capped mountains to compliment the scenery, on the very clear and still mornings the lake has the most amazing reflections of colour and light.

 

The Town of Wanaka has great bars and restaurants to visit, including bakeries and lots of gift shops.

A must see when you visit New Zealand and the South Island.

New Zealand here we come. Taking the family on a road trip to the South Island for 12 days, roughing it up in a motorhome. Looking forward to going back there.

How do l avoid sandflies attacking my children?

Mount Cook and Lake Tasman will definitely be on the itinerary, l might even go back to lake Wanaka.

In The Moment.

Here l am pictured with one of my most popular subjects. The Wanaka tree, Lake Wanaka, South Island, New Zealand.

It’s a habit of mine, to get in close with my subject matter, l have a need to feel the water around me, to almost ‘touch’ what l am photographing, not just a bystander on the sideline. Ever since l can remember, any sport or activity, l felt the need to be inside the arena, not watching it as a bystander or supporter.
l guess it’s got to do with being passionate about yourself and your endeavours, immersing yourself into the realms of the known and the unknown.

“IF YOU BUILD IT, THEY WILL COME”.

The Tree That Weeps For Me

My latest Edition to the New Zealand Gallery.

Captured at Lake Wanaka in the South Island of New Zealand.

Possibly one of the finest sunset’s l have witnessed throughout my travels on the South Island.

The lake was calm, so was the evening, l held my breath, closed my eyes and whispered thanks to the land.

My first visit here and l was blessed with something special, something that one could only dream to witness (which l have done on many occasions).

On this particular evening l paced myself, completely absorbed in the moment and never for one moment did l want it to end.

l guess my photograph keeps it alive.
